GLA Healthy Lunch Policy

Great Lakes Academy has a healthy food policy and restricts items that can be brought in for lunch. If you choose to send your child with a lunch, please place it in a bag with your child's name on it. Any items that are not allowed per our policy will be returned home.

Approved food items include:
Sandwiches (Subway is ok), baked chips/pretzels/popcorn, goldfish or other crackers, fruit snacks, fruit and veggies, and granola bars that aren't dipped in chocolate.

Please do not send students with lunchables, unhealthy or hot chips, candy, brownies, cookies, or rice krispie treats, or any peanut products. This is not an exhaustive list, and GLA may send other items home if they do not meet healthy standards.

The only approved drinks are water, 100% juice, and milk (served at lunch). Flavored water is permitted as long as no sugar is added.

We encourage you to call with any clarifying questions that may arise before sending a lunch to school.
