This past weekend, Great Lakes Academy held its second round of family orientations and first ever family barbecue. With plenty of great company, everyone had an amazing time!
During the family orientations, parents received important information about our school and had a chance to meet many of the teachers and staff members. Some of the highlights included when parents shared their hopes and dreams for their scholars, as well as learning two of GLA’s many cheers for its students: the roller coaster cheer and the broken roller coaster cheer.
After Saturday’s orientation, families gathered on the grassy knoll next to our school for some food, music, laughter and sunshine. Our scholars got to burn off some energy by playing on the school grounds wearing smiles and face paint with water balloons in hand. GLA’s Board of Governors joined the festivities, and our staff and Board had a terrific time meeting and with the GLA family community. Our BBQ was also a welcome opportunity for families to mingle with one another and celebrate all that Great Lakes Academy has accomplished these past few months.
