Last Thursday, Great Lakes Academy scholars went on a field trip to watch the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater perform "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
Scholars walked into the Symphony Center and were in awe of the lavish decor. First grader Jayel M. said her favorite part was "the violin, because it was the most quite instrument and I got to go with my mom!" Angela R. said her favorite part was "when the music started and the dancers came out in their costumes!"
Our scholars came back to school so excited about the performance they had just watched. While we were unable to take pictures during the show, this performance is sure to live on in the memories of our scholars for years to come. Check out some of our photos from the trip below.
