A Packed Day at Great Lakes Academy!

We had quite the Friday last week at Great Lakes Academy! On October 23 we had our first field trip of the 2015-2016 school year. After our usual all-school morning meeting, our students were off to discover new things across the city. Our kindergarten classes visited the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on Chicago's north side while our first and second graders took a trip to the Field Museum of Natural History. You could feel the buzz of excitement among the students.

Meanwhile at school, volunteers were hard at work organizing books for our library. We have so many excellent books ready for our scholars, organizing them was quite the task!
We were lucky to have community members come and donate their time.

This library will give our scholars the opportunity to grow their brains even after they leave the building.
